Overview

To respond to the need for broad support of clients and devices, to ease deployment, and to improve the user experience for end users, Oracle provides a modern, standards based, open client. Oracle’s Open UI uses a single framework to meet the demand for a variety of use cases: Employee partner or customer facing, mobile or desktop, touch or keyboard /mouse use as well as accessibility can all be supported with this framework.

Open UI – A standards-based approach

Customers using current releases of Siebel can enjoy the many benefits of the new Open UI client. Open UI runs on any modern browser compatible with HTML5 support to render Siebel, such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox & Safari, future proofing browser deployments. Siebel Open UI client, can support a broad variety of desktop browsers and mobile devices.

Open UI can be deployed more easily than prior Siebel clients due to its standards based design and requires no configuration in the browser. Oracle strongly recommends starting using the Open UI client for all new projects. Implementing Siebel on Open UI can take as little as one month for simple deployments, as migration guidance and tools are provided and existing customer configuration is carried forward.

Open UI User Experience

Users continue to leverage the familiarity gained through prior Siebel versions but supplement usability from modern Web based consumer applications, used by roughly 80% of all leading web based applications. Many aspects of the UI have been redesigned to bring new highly intuitive features to the client.
